Sourav Ganguly, the former Indian cricketer has been named as the new President of the BCCI. The veteran cricketer, known for his leadership skills, now has the chance to lead the Indian Cricket Board and work for the betterment of the Indian cricket.
Sachin Tendulkar, the legendary Indian batsman, and Ganguly’s team-mate congratulated him on becoming the president. Tendulkar wished him best of luck with the hope that he will continue to serve the Indian cricket as he did in the past.
“Congratulations on being elected as the President of BCCI. I am sure that you will continue to serve Indian cricket like you always have, Best wishes to the new team that will take charge”, he added.
Sourav Ganguly will be the second Indian captain to hold the top position. Maharajkumar of Vizianagram was the only other captain to become full-time BCCI President back in 1954 Ganguly, who was recently re-elected as the President of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), will have to demit office in July next year due to compulsory cooling-off period.
