I want Test cricket to be saved by Ganguly: Shoaib Akhtar

Former Pakistani speedster, Shoaib Akhtar congratulated Sourav Ganguly on his appointment as the BCCI President. Ganguly was the lone candidate applying for the top job on Monday (October 14) and will take charge as BCCI boss on October 23 – the day of elections in the Indian cricket board.

Akhtar, on his Youtube channel, hailed the cricketing knowledge of the former Indian player. He feels that Ganguly will act as a catalyst to transform Indian cricket. The Rawalpindi express also termed his former Kolkata Knight Riders’ skipper as an honest man.

Moreover, the Pakistani fast bowler demands Sourav to save Test cricket. “I want Test cricket to be saved by a great Test cricketer”, Akhtar said. He said that the BCCI holds an important position in the International Cricket Council and I want Sourav to work for the betterment of the longest format of the game.
