Wahab Riaz is mostly known for his ferocious pace and ability to dart in accurate yorkers that trouble the batsmen frequently. In recent times, his batting has become a notable aspect of his game as his power-hitting skills often come in handy for the sides he plays for.
This was witnessed once again in the National T20 Cup fixture between Southern Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where Wahab lit up the Iqbal Stadium with some lusty blows from his bat. The 34-year-old came into bat with his team under the pump while chasing the modest target of 155.
The veteran pacer instantly entered his attacking mode and launched an array of blistering hits. Wahab scored a breezy 42 off 17 balls, helping Southern Punjab over the line with nine balls to spare. He struck five boundaries and two maximums in his breathtaking onslaught over the KPK bowlers.
Earlier in the match, Wahab had picked up three crucial wickets and gave away just 28 runs in his four overs. His magnificent all-round show hence earned him the man of the match prize.
