Shadab Khan has been suffering a serious slump in form over the last few months in international cricket. Initially drafted into the national side for his penchant for taking wickets at regular intervals, Shadab has been delivering below-par performances for quite some time – he managed just five wickets in as many limited-overs fixtures against an arguably weak Sri Lankan team at home recently.
Nevertheless, he still holds the record of obtaining the most number of man of the match awards for Pakistan in the last two years.
Replying to an Islamabad United tweet depicting this statistic, right-arm paceman Hasan Ali reiterated his belief in Shadab’s abilities and predicted that the young leg-spinner will return to form soon.
Hasan and Shadab’s deep bond of friendship has received a lot of coverage in the media and is visible in their interactions on social media, which makes it hardly surprising that the 25-year-old defended the leggie on a public platform.
Hasan is out of the cricket action lately owing to a back spasm while Shadab is participating in the ongoing National T20 Cup for Northern.
