Senior Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has apologized to fans following a social media mishap where his accounts on both Twitter and Instagram were subject to cyber vandalism. Watson’s social media accounts were hacked by some individuals, who posted “illicit” pictures of women and racist comments.
Watson, who retired from international cricket in 2016, admitted his account was hacked in recent days which led to images of scantily clad women being posted. He also said racial slurs and fat-shaming comments were made using his account.
The 38-year-old thanked Twitter for swiftly responding to his complaints and ensuring such an incident would not happen again but was angered by the Instagram authorities’ lack of enthusiasm in trying to resolve his issue.
