The recently concluded Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2019 witnessed scintillating performances but some of the guys from West Indies were in amazing form throughout the tournament.
Brandon King for Guyana Amazon Warriors became the leading run-scorer of the tournament and Hayden Walsh Jr finished as the highest wicket-taker of the tournament.
These numbers have given them the opportunity of a lifetime as both of them have been included in the squad for the Afghanistan series.
Hayden Walsh Jr got emotional on his addition to the squad and said, "My mind flashed back to when we (my brother and I) played in the yard with my father, and we were imagining what roles we would play in the West Indies team. Today, my dream is a reality."
On the other hand, Brandon King said that it was his dream to play for the West Indies and now he’s finally going to live his dream.
"These moments are what you work towards as a player. It was always a dream to represent the West Indies. I’m really excited to get started on the upcoming tour."
Both Hayden and Walsh played in the finals of the CPL 2019 against each other and Hayden’s Barbados Tridents triumphed over the unbeaten Guyana Amazon Warriors in the much-anticipated finale.
