Mumbai teenager creates a world record

Yashasvi Jaiswal has made the world record by becoming the youngest batsman ever to score a double century in List A cricket during his blazing knock of 203 in the Vijay Hazare Trophy between Mumbai and Jharkhand.

The young left-handed batsman brought up the ninth instance of an Indian making a double hundred in one-day cricket – with five of them coming in international matches.

Jaiswal’s stunning innings comes just days after Kerala’s Sanju Samson smashed the highest individual score in Vijay Hazare Trophy by hitting an unbeaten 212.

Jaiswal tore apart the opposition with his breathtaking strikes and his belligerent charge helped Mumbai post a massive total of 358/3 in 50 overs. He bludgeoned 17 fours and a record 12 sixes and was part of the 200-run stand with Aditya Tare, who accumulated 78 runs off 102 balls.
