When it comes to T20 format, Babar Azam is indubitably the king of it. Dominant in the shortest format, Babar has now scored the most runs (1409) in a Calendar year for Pakistan surpassing Umar Akmal’s 1386 runs (in 2016). This has been a prolific year for the Pakistani opening batsman as his stats have been ever-improving.
Babar Azam currently stands at 6th position on the list just behind Chris Gayle with 1497 runs in the year 2011. Virat Kohli, the Indian batting giant tops the list with 1665 runs in the year 2015. Pakistan is set to tour Australia in November 2019 for T20I and Test series.
It is another chance for Babar to prove his class and excel further on the list. Babar did not have a good outing against Sri Lanka at Lahore, but with the class he possesses, it won’t be long before he gets back into his zone in the T20 format.
