Sohail Akhtar launched a blistering display of aggressive stroke play in the National T20 Cup fixture between Northern and Sindh. The hard-hitting batsman, who plays for Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), struck six fours and three sixes during his attacking innings.
The 33-year-old’s breezy 36-ball stay at the crease saw him rack up 63 runs and propel Northern towards an imposing total. Sohail was finally dismissed by Ahsan Jamil in the death overs of the innings as they ended with 191/7 in 20 overs.
Sohail’s quickfire knock puts him in the spotlight for selection in the national side. With Pakistan currently facing a dearth of power hitters in the lineup, Sohail could be brought in to fill in the vacuum if he continues performing like this.
