Pakistan Cricket Team went through a major change in leadership as PCB appointed a new Head Coach, Misbah-ul-Haq followed by a change in captaincy. Babar Azam has been named as the new captain of Pakistan’s T20I side after the sacking of Sarfraz Ahmed.
This appointment has left many questions patrolling in the air. The most important point to consider is whether Babar will be able to cope with the pressure of captaincy or not. The right-handed batsman has been in tremendous form and currently dominates the T20I ranking.
It is very likely that the inexperienced Babar might struggle to handle two tough jobs simultaneously. PCB has taken a risk which might backfire with just one-year left in the ICC T20 World Cup.
Only time will tell how fruitful this decision will be for the Pakistani cricket team. Sarfraz Ahmed’s batting form went down miserably during his captaincy reign. The Green team cannot afford to lose Babar’s batting credibility as he is one of the most reliable batsmen in the batting line-up.
