After Sarfraz Ahmed was fired from the Test and T20I captaincy of the Pakistani cricket team, the cricket world reacted abruptly. There were many mixed opinions that showed up on social media and news channels. Former Pakistani cricketers also expressed their views regarding this decision from the management.
Shoaib Akhtar, the veteran Pakistani fast bowler blamed Sarfraz Ahmed for this decision made by PCB. He feels that Sarfraz tasted the results of the seeds which he bows himself. “I saw it coming for Sarfraz, nobody else is to be blamed but him. Been telling him for two years to pull up his socks”, Akhtar added.
Sarfraz was struggling with his batting form in the recent past. The wicket-keeping batsman was not being able to capitalize on the opportunities with the bat.
The white-wash in the T20I against Sri Lanka made the matter worse for him. His overall dismal performance forced PCB to make a tough decision and they ended up firing him from the captaincy.
