It is hard to overemphasize the importance of fitness in today’s cricket. With a lot of cricketing action, it is imperative for cricketers to carry great fitness. Like other boards, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also puts special focus on fitness standards.
However, a report claimed that the head coach and chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq showed dissatisfaction with the attitude of a few players. These players included the name of middle-order batsman Haris Sohail, paceman Wahab Riaz and all-rounder Imad Wasim.
Ramiz Raja once again raises voice over the fitness of players
Reviewing this situation, Pakistan’s former captain Ramiz Raja urged the governing body of cricket in Pakistan to throw all the players from the national team who aren’t ready to train well and show discipline. Moreover, he wants the board to stop these cricketers from participating in the foreign leagues by not issuing the NOC.
The cricketer turned commentator reiterated the importance of good fitness as he linked it with the ability to perform strongly and consistently. Ramiz also advised Misbah-ul-Haq to go hard on lethargic players and set an example for all the cricketers.
