After the commencement of South Africa’s tour to India, the men in blue are set to host Bangladesh for a three-game T20I series followed by two Test matches. However, credible reports claimed that the Indian skipper Virat Kohli is likely to be rested from the 20-over games against Bangladesh.
It is understood that the Indian run-machine has been continuously playing all the three formats of the game and being the leader of the side doubles his workload.
Hence, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wants to see their senior pro getting some rest. However, the Delhi born is expected to take a full part in the two red-ball games which will commence Bangladesh’s journey in the ICC World Test Championship.
As per reports, BCCI officials said that their top priority is to have all their players fresh and ready for their future assignments. Hence, the idea is to have Kohli take a break. Moreover, it is understood that the opening batsman Rohit Sharma will do the leadership duties in Kohli’s absence.
