Right after being left out of Pakistan’s squad for the Australia tour, senior all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez delivered an emphatic performance with the ball in the National T20 Cup clash between Southern Punjab and Sindh.
Despite being dismissed for a golden duck in the first innings, Hafeez came back strongly with his bowling to guide his team to a dominating 34-run victory over the Asad Shafiq-led Sindh. Hafeez claimed four wickets for just 24 runs and played a pivotal role in stemming the opposition’s batting charge.
He was well supported by leg-spinner Zahid Mahmood on the other end, who also registered four wickets. Hafeez’s key contribution is testimonial to the fact that he is still a high quality player at the age of 39 years.
