Rampant Shami destroys vulnerable Proteas

South Africa’s nightmare run continues in India as they were thrashed by the home team in the 3rd Test match at Ranchi. Mohammad Shami, the Indian pace-bowler, ran through the Proteas’ top-order in the 2nd innings. Shami initiated the spark with the new ball which burnt down South Africa’s whole batting line-up.

Shami bowled 10 overs and picked up 3 wickets and conceded only 10 runs. The right-arm fast bowler was too good to deal with for the South African batsmen. Shami has evolved as a great seam bowler for India in the Test matches.

His improved fitness and skills have made him a versatile bowler for India. In the 45 Test matches he played for India; the 29-year old has picked up 166 wickets at an incredible average of 27.74. India batting first put up a mammoth total of 497 runs courtesy an incredible double-century from Rohit Sharma. In reply, South Africa managed to score 162 and 133 (f/o).
