Pakistan’s newly appointed Chief Selector, Misbah-ul-Haq talked about Sharjeel Khan, Pakistan’s opening batsman during the Press Conference on Monday. When asked about the whereabouts of Sharjeel, Misbah replied, “He has just got a permission to play club cricket. We will keep a check on his performances but it is too early to say anything about his selection”.
Sharjeel Khan was banned from playing International and Domestic Cricket after he was found guilty of a spot-fixing scandal during the Pakistan Super League edition 2017. Sharjeel was handed a five-year ban from the all forms of cricket.
Sharjeel played under Misbah-ul-Haq in Islamabad United. The opening batsman surely has the potential to deliver at the International arena but his punishment stands as a hindrance in his selection for the National cricket team.
