Shahbaz Nadeem, another spinner from India shines as they out-classed South Africa in the 3rd Test match at Ranchi and won the match by an innings and 202 runs. The left-arm spinner picked up 4 wickets and gave away 40 runs in his debut match. Shahbaz talked about how much he learnt from Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.
“I was excited, and a bit emotional too, but then I concentrated on what I had to do in the game. I was nervous for the first three balls, especially during my run-up. My nerves settled during the fourth ball,” Nadeem said. When Nadeem was asked about his feelings when he received his Test cap, he said, “It feels good to be rewarded for all the years of hard work, and getting to make my debut on my home ground was the most special feeling. It has a different value, that too on the home ground.”
While talking about playing alongside veteran spinners R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, the 30-year-old said, “It's fun. They can share their experiences, and what to do, and what not do. They are probably two of the best spinners in the world, and there's so much to learn from everything they do.”
Nadeem is focused on playing for India in the Test matches in the upcoming years. After getting a delayed chance, the 30-year old wants to capitalize on the opportunity of playing the ICC Test Championship.
