The top-order batsman of Pakistan Babar Azam has finally been installed as the captain of the shortest format of the game. This comes in reaction to the wicket-keeper batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed’s poor batting form which stretched for a long period of time. This decision of Pakistan Cricket Board saw mixed reactions as one group is backing Babar to take the next gear, while others sit angry and dissatisfied.
Former Pakistan captain Javed Miandad belongs to the second category as he clearly expressed his frustration on the matter. He feels that the governing body of the cricket in Pakistan has made a decision in haste which could also impact the batting of Babar Azam who sits as a batting leader of the boys in green.
In addition to that, the Karachi born added that the cricket board should have been a bit more patient with Sarfaraz. He admitted the struggles of the wicket-keeper batsman, but wanted PCB to allow him a bit more breathing space.
