Rohit Sharma has been rewarded for his glittering form in the recently-concluded Test series against South Africa as he broke into the top 10 for Test batsmen in the updated International Cricket Council (ICC) rankings. Rohit has made a significant leap of 12 spots to occupy the 10th position.
The 32-year-old was given the task of opening the innings for the first time in his Test career during the series opener in Visakhapatnam. Striking twin centuries on the maiden outing, Rohit never looked back as he continued his cracking form with the first double century of his career in the final match at Ranchi.
He finished the series with a mammoth sum of 529 runs at an astonishing average of 132.25. His voluminous contributions to India’s historic whitewash over the Proteas earned him the man of the series award as well.
