Since the appointment as the head coach and chief selector of the Pakistan team, life hasn’t been easy for Misbah-ul-Haq. While Pakistan started the ODI series on a positive note, the thrashing in T20I cricket and then the removal of wicket-keeper batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed from the captaincy framework attracted a lot of backlashes.
Many believe that Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) move of axing the Karachi born is unwise and former Pakistan pacer Aaqib Javed is no exception.
Aaqib Javed lashes out at Misbah-ul-Haq for Sarfraz's snub
The cricketer-turned coach believes that Misbah made Sarfaraz a scapegoat despite being a prolific performer as the skipper of the T20I unit. Aaqib feels that Misbah won’t get away with this as Karma will come back to bite him.
The 47-year old also criticized the governing body of Pakistan cricket for not standing behind Sarfaraz Ahmed in tough times despite him taking the green team to the top of T20I rankings. Moreover, he demanded the reinstallation of Sarfaraz as the captain till the next year’s T20 World Cup in Australia. It remains to be seen if PCB or Misbah responds to Aaqib’s comments.
