Bangladesh’s opening batsman Tamim Iqbal is one of the key players of their national team. Carrying a plethora of experience consisting of 58 Tests, 204 ODIs and 75 T20Is, the southpaw holds impressive numbers highlighting his importance for the unit.
After a shoddy run in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament and then in the tour of Sri Lanka, Tamim took a break from the International cricket to fix his batting woes.
Now that he was all set to get back to donning the national colors in the forthcoming tour of India, reports claim that the prolific batsman might miss a part of the cricketing action.
The reason for this is that he and his wife are expecting the birth of their second child, which means that his wife’s health would determine his availability for the cricket team.
To cover his potential absence, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have kept Imrul Kayes as Tamim’s backup. Bangladesh are set to play 3 T20Is followed by 2 Test matches against the men in blue.
