Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to invest in the future of the T20I team with a new captain, Babar Azam. The right-handed batsman was named the new captain of Pakistan’s T20I side after Sarfraz Ahmed was sacked from the leadership of the Green team. Babar will make his captaincy debut against Australia in the upcoming T20I series.
Talking about his captaincy plans, Babar said, “I look at the current captains like Kane Williamson and Virat Kohli, and how well they manage their form along with bringing results to the team. I will try to emulate them”.
There is a perception of Babar’s appointment that he might not be able to cope with the pressure and it can affect his batting form. On the other hand, the young captain is confident to do well in the series against Australia and keep Pakistan and himself at the number 1 position.
