Rajitha makes an unwanted world record

The first T20I between Australia and Sri Lanka at Adelaide saw pacer Kasun Rajitha become the victim of solid striking from the home side’s batsmen. Rajitha, coming at the back of an impressive performance against Pakistan in Lahore, snatched the unwanted record of bowling the most expensive bowling spell in a T20I innings.

The previous record holder for this was Turkey’s Tunahan Turan, who had leaked 70 runs in his four overs in the clash between his side and Czech Republic a couple of months ago. Rajitha conceded a gargantuan sum of 75 runs in his 24-ball spell, getting bludgeoned for seven boundaries and six maximums.

To add further misery for Rajitha, he went wicketless as hits from Aaron Finch, David Warner and Glenn Maxwell punished him throughout the innings. Later, the 26-year-old was dismissed for a two-ball duck as his outing went from bad to worse. It remains to be seen how the youngster copes with such a brutal hammering and fares in the upcoming matches.
