Sachin Tendulkar, the legendary Indian batsman, is one of the masters of the game. Carrying mind-boggling numbers, the top-order batsman, with an experience of 200 Tests and 463 ODIs, created an unmatched legacy in the Indian cricket which continues to be celebrated by his ever-swelling fan-base.
Recently, the 46-year old visited a school in Western Maharashtra where he shared the tips of success with students who aspire to play cricket for India.
Discussing his journey and the inability to get selected during his first trial, the World Cup winner said, “My rejection hurt me as the result was against my expectations. But, I motivated myself and used my focus and commitment to work harder than before. If you want to pursue your dreams, shortcuts would never help you.”
Tendulkar revealed that he failed to impress the selectors during his first trial, but never lost hope and ameliorated his game to get himself registered back in the process. Moreover, he credited his family and childhood coach Ramakant Achrekar for backing him during all the tough times.
