Adil Rashid reveals taking steroid before World Cup 2019

Adil Rashid, England’s premier white-ball spinner, recently revealed the struggles he endured before the commencement of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament. The leggie spoke about taking steroid injections to be able to participate in the all-important mega-event.

Rashid told the media that he was in so much pain that his ability to even lift his bowling arm was limited. Nevertheless, the steroid injections came to his rescue as they helped him to get going throughout the victorious World Cup campaign. Moreover, Rashid is now confident to do well for England and help them register many victories.

“If I didn’t take the injections, then I don’t think I would have played a part because it was really bad. I wasn’t even able to lift my arm with the ball. I’m happy that I got through the World Cup and tried to do well with the best of my ability. Thankfully, things worked well,” said Adil Rashid while revisiting the pain he carried before the 50-over competition.
