Pakistan women marched to victory in the second T20I against Bangladesh women in Lahore at the back of stellar half-centuries from Javeria Khan and Bismah Maroof. Skipper Bismah and opening batter Javeria put on 95 runs for the second wicket and built a solid foundation for Pakistan to eventually make 167-3 in their 20 overs.
Bismah recorded her career-best score in the shortest format as she smashed an unbeaten 70 off 50 balls featuring nine boundaries and a solitary six amidst her 10th T20I fifty. Meanwhile, Javeria scored 52 runs with the help of five fours and two maximums.
Pakistan’s bowlers put an early choke on Bangladesh’s chase, snaffling three wickets inside the Powerplay as the visitors stuttered to 152-7. Pakistan are now in with a plausible chance to complete a T20I series whitewash over their Asian rivals.
