Pakistan all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed is part of the white-ball and red-ball squads for the Australia tour. Iftikhar, who harbors a reputation of being a power hitter, was impressive during the recent ODI series against Sri Lanka where his enterprising cameos towards the end of the innings boosted his side’s total on a couple of occasions.
Shedding light on the tough conditions that await him in Australia, Iftikhar said his team’s early arrival to the country ahead of the three T20Is and two Tests provided them with a chance to get used to the conditions.
“Conditions are very different here as compared to Pakistan. We have acclimatized ourselves to the Australian conditions so I don’t think there should be any problem for our players,” he said.
He also hoped his brilliant form in the domestic setup will be replicated in the international arena against a quality side like Australia.
“I have performed in red-ball cricket in addition to excelling in the limited-overs formats. I aim to improve and make the most of this opportunity,” he added.
