Hamilton Masakadza the former opening batsman of the Zimbabwean cricket team is appointed as the Director of Cricket of the Zimbabwe team. The right-handed batsman retired last month from the International Cricket and now will begin his new position on Friday.
The director of cricket is a new role created by the Zimbabwe cricket board in August when it was decided that the whole structure of their cricket will be reformed.
Masakadza’s duties include defining policy, strategy, and programs of best practice through all Zimbabwe's teams, he will be accountable for the recruitment, management and interaction of senior cricket technical staff and is tasked with ensuring that coaches and captains are providing effective leadership to the national teams.
Hamilton Masakadza did a great job for Zimbabwe as a player and now it is time to perform well in the management sector. He is the fourth-highest run-scorer in Tests and ODIs for Zimbabwe. He has his work cut-out as Zimbabwe cricket went under turmoil recently. Zimbabwe Cricket hopes that the former cricketer will help them deal with the ongoing dilemmas.
