Teenage pace sensation Naseem Shah has once again grabbed the headlines with his sizzling spell in the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy clash between Central Punjab and Sindh. The 16-year-old picked up six wickets for 78 runs, generating extravagant pace and swing on a flat surface.
Naseem, having already been selected for the two-Test series against Australia next month, has been touted as a surprise package by the chief selector and head coach Misbah-ul-Haq.
"Prior to this match, I had spoken with Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis and both of them had advised me to go flat out, bowl long spells and give my very best. I am pleased that I was able to bowl fast with controlled swing and accuracy," he said.
Following his astonishing bowling, the rookie fast bowler revealed he had been advised by Misbah and bowling coach Waqar Younis to focus on bowling longer spells in order to meet the grueling requirements of Test cricket.
