Left-handed opening batsman Shan Masood has copped a fine for showing dissent at the umpire’s decision during the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy match between Southern Punjab and Northern. The 30-year-old, who is captaining the Southern Punjab side, was adjudged caught behind but showed disappointment at the decision and gestured to his bat.
“Shan was charged by on-field umpires Abdul Moqeet and Farooq Ali Khan for violation of clause 2.8 of the PCB Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel,” the PCB press release said.
Shan refused to contest the charge and accepted the sanction imposed on him. He is part of Pakistan’s Test squad that will feature in Australia for two games later this month.
