Former Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur has expressed his excitement regarding the upcoming series between Australia and Pakistan. Arthur, who also coached Australia in the past, has confirmed his allegiance to the Pakistan side for the three T20Is and two Tests.
Arthur pointed out the wealth of talent that Pakistan has and referred to the deep bond he has with the youngsters. He thus felt proud to see them excel on the big stage and hoped they would continue to perpetuate their good form against a strong opponent like Australia.
“They were all young boys when I brought them through, and so I watch their performances with a lot of affection. Certainly Babar Azam, Mohammad Amir, Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, these are guys I’ve really worked quite hard with, so I’m keen to watch them progress,” he said in a recent interview.
Arthur predicted Pakistan would present a tough challenge to the Australian side, who recently completed a series whitewash over Sri Lanka. “They’re wonderfully skilled cricketers and I just hope Australia sees the best of them,” Arthur added.
