Central Punjab captain Ahmad Shehzad has been slapped with a 50 percent fine of his match fee, while his teammate and Pakistan Test skipper Azhar Ali and Sindh pacer Sohail Khan have received official reprimands for violating Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Code of Conduct.
The incidents in question took place during the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy fixture between Sindh and Central Punjab in Faisalabad. Shehzad has been charged with ball-tampering which relates to Level 1 offence under Article 2.14 of the PCB Code of Conduct.
“We can agree to disagree in this incident as I maintain that the condition of the ball changed naturally due to the rough playing square and not artificially. I tried to convince the match officials, but they insisted and I accept and respect their decision," Shehzad said.
