Pakistan cricket faced a massive controversy when Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Asif and Salman Butt were convicted of spot-fixing in 2010. The scandal rocked the cricket world to the core and painted a tainted picture about Pakistan cricket.
Revisiting Pakistan’s tussle with fixing scandals, former speedster Shoaib Akhtar has cast match-fixing aspersions on his ex-teammates in a recent talk show. Akhtar surprisingly stated all of his teammates were engaged in corrupt activities and said former pacer Asif shared the details with him.
“I had match-fixers all around me. I was playing against about 21 people. 11 players of the opposing side and 10 ours. You had no idea who is fixing. Match-fixing was so rampant. Mohammad Asif used to tell me the details of how he used to fix matches,” Akhtar made the shocking claims.
