Sentiments poured out from the heart as Pakistan’s former Head Coach Mickey Arthur emotionally talked about the love he received from the people of Pakistan in his coaching tenure. Mickey Arthur remained the head coach of Pakistan for 3 years starting from 2016 to 2019.
Under his reign, Pakistan lifted the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017 by beating the arch-rivals India in the finals. The 51-year old talked about his fans in Pakistan and said, “The people in Pakistan are fantastic. I had a wonderful 3 years as coach, it was amazing. They are 3 years that will stick with me forever”.
“I still get messages on my phone from Pakistan fans. The support we got from Pakistani fans in England and around the world was phenomenal. Pakistani fans are amazing and that makes working with a country like that so rewarding”, he further added.
Mickey was recently dethroned from his position by Pakistan Cricket Board. Misbah-ul-Haq replaced him as the new head coach of the Green team. Pakistan played wonderful cricket under him and his services for this team are immense.
