Harmanpreet Kaur, T20I captain of the Indian women team, is considered among the finest fielders of the modern day cricket and she proved it again by recently plucking a stunning catch in the first ODI against West Indian women team.
In the Sir Vivian Richards stadium, West Indian skipper Stafanie Taylor was playing a flawless innings and looked to get to her century in style. However, the 30-year old cricketer had no plans to let Stafanie achieve a milestone against her unit. As Stafanie looked to smash Ekta Bisht for another maximum, Harmanpreet timed her jump to perfection to record a spectacular grab at the long-on boundary.
What made the effort even more special is that the Punjab born used her non-throwing arm to catch the ball, thus sending Stafanie back to the pavilion. While she impressed everyone with a breathtaking fielding effort, Harmanpreet couldn’t save India from a heartbreaking defeat as India lost the game by 1 run while chasing 225 runs.
