Out-of-favour opening batsman Sami Aslam has continued his prolific form in first-class cricket with another stunning century. Coming at the back of a sublime 100 against Northern, Sami punished the Balochistan bowling attack with an array of terrific strokes.
Sami forged a mammoth 283-run opening stand with Umar Siddiq that hammered in the advantage for the touring side. Sami hit an unbeaten 149 by the end of the first day’s play, smashing 14 boundaries and two maximums during his 255-ball stay at the crease in the stipulated time period.
A testimony to his leadership credentials, Sami led by example and amassed with impeccable shots. Having already represented Pakistan in 13 Tests and four ODIs, Sami will be eyeing a spot in the national side following such impressive performances.
