South Africa’s wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock hopes that the misery-stricken cricket team will drive motivation from the Rugby World Cup win. South Africa’ Rugby team, commonly known as the Springboks, recently won the world cup title by defeating England in the finals. The title victory lifted the morale of the whole nation which was seeking for a lift.
This Rugby World Cup victory also had an impact on the South Africa’s cricket team which is undergoing turmoil. Talking about the prevailing situation, de Kock said, “It is alright that the whole country and the guys are down and out but when we all gather, especially after the Rugby World Cup, a lot of people are pumped up and want to get this transition going so by the time we get to our next World Cup, we can really put ourselves in a good stead, just like England did.”
South African cricket team had a nightmare outing in India when they lost badly in the Test series against the home team. The Proteas also did not enjoy good ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Their cricket team surely needs a lift up in this melancholic situation.
