The Pakistan cricket team was found wanting in the 2nd T20I game against Australia at Canberra. The visitors won the toss and elected to bat first. Babar Azam once again proved his class with another glorious half-century.
Iftikhar Ahmed was the only highlight of Pakistan’s innings who batted in a dashing way and scored his maiden T20I fifty. The other batters including Fakhar Zaman, Haris Sohail and Mohammad Rizwan failed once again and Pakistan managed to score 150 runs in their 20 overs.
In reply, Australia was off to a flyer courtesy dynamic batting from David Warner. Pakistani bowlers made a good comeback inside the powerplay as they managed to dismiss both Australian openers. That is when Steve Smith walked in and the rest was history.
Smith’s classic got Canberra roaring in the aisles. He was a one-man show for Australia and scored a magnificent 80 not out. Pakistani bowlers were helpless as they succumbed to Smith’s master-class innings. Australia won the match by 7 wickets and took a lead of 1-0 in the 3-match T20I series.
