The hero of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 final, Fakhar Zaman, has now been found wanting with the bat in hand in the recent past. The left-handed batsman had a miserable start to the T20I series against Australia. Zaman scored a golden duck and 2 in the opening 2 T20Is against the Kangaroos.
He has managed to score only 110 runs in his last 12 T20I innings (averaging only 9). Fakhar’s poor form has become a concern for Pakistan’s already struggling batting line-up. Apart from Babar Azam, no player has managed to score consistently for Pakistan in the T20I format recently.
The left-handed batsman has to deal with his miserable form if he wants to continue his stint towards the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia next year. Zaman has been a key player for Pakistan ever since his debut but the Green team can’t afford to slip the matters out of their hands with persistent chances.
