Multan Sultans have not had the best of times in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) ever since they were included in the lucrative T20 tournament. Having ended second-last in the previous two seasons, Sultans co-owner Ali Tareen has highlighted a radical shift in strategy to pick the best possible squad.
Sharing his plan for the PSL players draft for the fifth edition of the league, Tareen claimed they have hired the services of three senior analysts, who will be focusing only on data to pick the top players.
He thus warned all payers and their agents/managers to avoid reaching out to coaches and management staff as the sole focus is on data. Tareen’s disciplined stance was widely praised by fans, who lauded his efforts for maintaining meritocratic practices.
