With Australia guaranteeing themselves a position from where they cannot lose the ongoing T20I series, the management has decided to rest paceman Pat Cummins from the last game, which is to take place on Friday in Perth. In the two games he played, Pat impressed everyone as he bowled 7 overs conceding only 34 runs while picking a wicket.
Australia is eager to do well in the last game and win the T20I series, but they aren’t ready to compromise on their gun pacer’s work load. The decision to have Pat resting comes from the fact that he has been playing a lot of cricket recently. Hence, management wants the 26-year old to take some rest before returning to action in the forthcoming Test series.
For this reason, he is expected to feature in the Sheffield Shield fixture between New South Wales and Western Australia, which would help him gear up for the red-ball cricketing action. This allows Sean Abbott to get back to the national colors after missing an opportunity against Sri Lanka.
