Stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma smashed a belligerent 43-ball 85 to help India register a thumping victory against Bangladesh in the second T20I. After a shock defeat in the opening game of the series, Rohit led from the front to set up a sixes galore as the visitors were at the mercy of his ruthless hitting.
The experienced campaigner struck six fours and as many maximums as he reached his blazing half-century in just 23 balls. Rohit’s extravagant batting helped India get to the modest 154-run target with 26 deliveries to spare.
Besides the colossal win, the occasion was more memorable given the fact that Rohit became just the second male cricketer to play 100 T20Is. Rohit’s stellar year in T20 cricket has also seen him overtake Virat Kohli as the highest run-scorer in the format.
