The New Zealand’s speedster registers his interest in England’s bowling coach vacancy as their former bowling coach Chris Silverwood is promoted as the head coach of the side. The right-arm fast bowler caught up with the English boys during the ongoing T20I series versus New Zealand.
Bond, who is currently filling in for Shane Jurgensen as New Zealand's bowling coach for the final games of the ongoing T20I series, already has several coaching positions around the world. The Kiwi fast bowler is currently working as the head coach of Sydney Thunders, he is the bowling coach at Mumbai Indians and will take the role of assistant coach for Southern Brave in the Hundred.
Bond also has the experience of working with England back in Ashes 2017-2018. "I think you look at everything that is put in front of you, wherever the opportunities come up," Bond said.
"I know all the English guys. I caught up with them in Christchurch when they were down for their pre-season tournament T20 warm-up fixtures. I really enjoyed being with the team and liked the guys”, he added.
"Whatever you are doing as a coach, you want something that is going to excite you, hopefully make you better, present a different opportunity - I think you look at everything that comes across your door”, he continued. Concerning the pressure of International scenarios, Bond might not finalize his stance on coaching at the bigger stages and instead stick with the T20 circuit.
