Handscomb joins Middlesex as their captain on a 2-year deal

Middlesex and Peter Handscomb shake hand for a 2-year deal which states that the right-handed batsman will join the team as the captain for the season 2020 and 2021. The Australian batsman will take the charge of Middlesex County Club from the beginning of the 2020 season.

Handscomb previously has the experience of 3 county stints with Gloucestershire (2015), Yorkshire (2017), and Durham (2019). Handscomb has represented Australia in 40 matches across all the 3 formats. He is also the captain of team Victoria in the Australian domestic structure.

Middlesex’s head coach welcomed Handscomb whole-heartedly and said, “We are delighted and excited to have an all-round cricketer of Peter's stature at the club. I have known Peter for some time and worked with him at the National Cricket Centre in Brisbane seven or eight years ago, so I know what a top bloke he is”.
