Pakistan continued their slump in T20I cricket as they were hammered by Australia in the final game of the three-match T20I series. The hosts won the toss and invited tourists to have a go with the bat. Pakistan looked poor right from the word go to manage a paltry total of 106 runs, which was aced inside 12 overs by Australia’s openers.
On a forgettable day, the batting department of the boys in green looked like a house of cards as no one really stood against the Kangaroos except the middle-order batsman Iftikhar Ahmed.
Coming to bat when Pakistan was 22-3, the domestic veteran played attacking cricket. However, the pressure got to him eventually which decreased his scoring rate.
Nevertheless, the Peshawar born scored crucial 45 runs which helped Pakistan add some respectability to the total. Smashing 6 fours, Iftikhar showed his prowess yet again, but never got any support from the other end. With this victory, Australia sealed the three-game series 2-0 as the first match was abandoned because of rain.
