Ahmed Shehzad had to face controversy once again as he was charged for willfully altering the condition of the ball recently and was fined by virtue of being the captain of Central Punjab. While addressing a press conference ahead of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy clash between Central Punjab and Balochistan, Shehzad shed light on being constantly lumped together with fellow teammate Umar Akmal.
Shehzad and Umar burst onto the international scene together over a decade ago but both have failed to earn a permanent spot in the national side getting embroiled in disciplinary issues and plagued with batting inconsistencies. Discussing the frequent comparisons with Umar, Shehzad said the duo needed to be treated as two separate individuals.
“He has his own life, I have mine. I request that we are not get lumped together as a duo. I should be judged on what I do and he on his conduct. It would also be unfair on him if I were to make a mistake but the blame was to fall on him,” he said.
