Naim’s belligerence in vain as India grasps series title

India took on Bangladesh in the series decider at Nagpur on 10th November 2019. After being put into bat by Bangladesh, India managed to score 174 for the loss of 5 wickets courtesy half-centuries from KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer. In reply, Bangladesh started their innings with some early dents.

Credit to the youngster Mohammad Naim who kept the Bangladeshi fans interested till the last half of the game. The left-handed batsman played a quality innings of 81 runs from just 48 balls. His scintillating knock included 10 fours and 2 sixes. Bangladesh lost the match by 30 runs as a result of a record-breaking spell from Deepak Chahar (6 wickets for 7 runs) but Naim’s knock became the highlight of the 2nd innings.

Naim looks an exciting prospect for Bangladesh at the top of the order. He currently averages 47.66 in the 3 T20I matches he played. He had a good outing in this series against India. Bangladesh can look forward to him while building the base for the ICC T20 World Cup in 2020.
