Musa Khan is one of those budding Pakistani pacers who are catching the attention of the cricketing world. Recently, the paceman made his International debut in Australia where things didn’t go down well for him. Bowling 3.5 overs, Musa conceded 39 runs against the dangerous Australian opening combination of David Warner and Aaron Finch.
The figures obviously didn’t justify Musa’s potential, but watching his bowling moved the former Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur to compare him with the legendary Australian quick Jeff Thomson. Highlighting Musa’s bowling method which allows his balls to skid, the Johannesburg born believes that the teenage pacer has a lot of skills and would form a great partnership with Shaheen Afridi.
“Musa is a little bit like a slinger, like the old Jeff Thomson. With good pace, Musa hurries and he’s flat and skids the ball. I think he would make a really good partnership bowling with Shaheen Afridi as one would skid the ball, while the other would look to swing it back,” said by 51-year old.
