Earning his chance after a lot of hard work in the domestic circuit, middle-order batsman Iftikhar Ahmed has grabbed the limelight. In the recently concluded T20I series, the Peshawar born showed his prowess by ending up as the second-highest run-getter of Pakistan only behind Babar Azam.
Recently, Iftikhar moved the veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez to acknowledge his class. The 39-year old, who represented Pakistan in 55 Tests, 218 ODIs and 89 T20Is, showered heaps of praise on Iftikhar as he feels that he adds a lot of flexibility in the batting order of the green team.
Hafeez said that the best thing about Iftikhar is that he can be used both as a finisher or a middle-order batsman, depending on the need of the team.
The dexterous cricketer wished Iftikhar luck to continue his strong run in the International cricket as he wants the domestic stalwart to win many games for Pakistan. It would be interesting to see how Iftikhar fares in the Test series if he gets a chance.
