Pakistan coach and chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq has addressed the ordinary form of senior pacers Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz by asking the duo to elevate the standard of their performances and lead the bowling charge.
Talking in a video clip uploaded by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) admitted Amir and Wahab lacked the required zip in their bowling in the recently concluded T20I series in Australia. Amir and Wahab continue to be a permanent fixture of Pakistan's white-ball lineups with both players having taken a break from the longest format of the game.
However, Amir could take only one wicket while Wahab returned wicketless in the three games against Australia. With the T20 World Cup arriving next year, Misbah stressed the need for the two players to improve their wicket-taking ability as he believed Amir had the responsibility of excelling with the new ball whereas Wahab was tasked with attacking in the middle overs.
